'Real' Gibson 335s feel more 'in the pocket' when you play them in my opinion - they have a nice inner feel to the frets. The fingerboard on a Peerless feels strangely similar to a PRS, not sure if this is something to do with the Korean approach.īut Peerless do feel very fast and easy. Currently Korea make my favourite guitars (which I can afford.) this and the PRS SE range are my favourites. The pickups are fantastic - this guitar has had more comments about its tone than any any other guitar I've come across. I paid 600 for mine and it was money very well spent. Most every guitar in this price range from other makers is a laminate, however Peerless has managed to do a solid spruce top on this instrument and it makes for a world of difference. There's only one 335 I've played that I thought was better and it was a real Gibson 335 that cost about 2500-3000. The Peerless Monarch is a 17' x 3' archtop body with solid spruce top, maple sides and back that really sings. It's WAY better than any epiphone dot I've played, or hagstrom, or ibanez. I think they are up there with great 335 guitars. They look very similar but play very differently. I have two - a 335 style Bird of Prey and a 330 style Renaissance Standard.
